Antonino Sapienza Pittore Siracusano
 Antonino
Sapienza nasce a Siracusa 01.08.1934, dove è vissuto ed ha lavorato
nel suo studio di via Bacchilide 39/b, sede al contempo di un
cenacolo d’arte prima, di una piccola galleria ai nostri giorni.
L’uomo
E’ stato un uomo schivo, privo di complicazioni concettuali, non
coltivando acrobazie stilistiche e nella sua innata umiltà ha
elaborato il sogno antico della pittura espressa così come “pura
arte”. Si forma da autodidatta, respirando sin da giovane, la
volontà di creare, di plasmare i colori e la materia studiando ed
osservando la natura ed il mondo circostante, a volte anche in
completa solitudine.
Verrà poi, in epoca matura, il periodo di frequentazione dell’ente
Siciliano “Arte e Cultura” presieduto da Giuseppe Consiglio e sorto
in memoria del maestro Giuseppe Sorano.
In seno ad esso, l’artista vivrà anni di grande fermento ed attività
pittorica.
Per chi conosce il panorama di quegli anni a Siracusa, non sarà
difficile far tornare alla memoria nomi di artisti come : Ferrari,
Catinella, i due Golino, Ruggieri, Magrì, Bonnici , Mangiafico,
Lombardo, Cocuccio, Betta, Cucè, Schifano e non ultimo il maestro
Carlo Capodieci.
L’Artista
Per Antonino Sapienza olio su tela era la tecnica preferita, ma non
diserterà di certo la sperimentazione attraverso materiali e
tecniche pittoriche sempre diverse.
Gli estimatori andavano lì, a scovarlo nella sua “bottega” alla
ricerca tra le tante tele di nuove composizioni , nuove vie del
colore.
Le sue opere, calcano l’impronta impressionistica e quella di
figurazione. L’espressionismo figurativo, sarà ricorrente nella
produzione di Antonio Sapienza, lui stesso dichiarerà più volte di
esser fortemente legato alle “figure” tutte diverse, ma tutte dallo
stile pittorico inconfondibile.
Il tratto è sicuro ma delicato, i colori sempre ricchi e pastosi,
luci ed ombre formano alla fine un connubio perfetto. L’artista ,
studia e predilige la tecnica caravaggesca che abborda con serena
umiltà, cercando tra i toni scuri, quella “famosa” luce di speranza
e di vita.
C’è molta solitudine tra le sue tele ma nel contempo, affiora sempre
dirompente dal fondo, quel bagliore che le accende misteriosamente.
I paesaggi definiti dai più , magnifici ed a volte fantastici , ci
stupiscono continuamente e non si può non ricordare quanta bellezza
e sogno l’artista abbia profuso nell’omaggio a Kandinsky.
La ricerca del colore, sarà per tutta la sua attività il fil rouge,
il segno distintivo.
Due grandi pale d’altare visibili presso la Chiesa di S. Rita in
Siracusa danno lustro alla produzione a carattere sacro, trattasi di
una Madonna col Bambino e di una Deposizione di Cristo. Infine
insieme alla pittura ricordiamo l'approccio e la scoperta di Antonio
Sapienza per la scultura.
L’artista ha modellato dei marmi “di scarto” dando vita a una
pregevole serie di figure ed ha dedicato dei bassorilievi ad alcuni
dei nostri papi arricchendo la sua produzione, già notevole.
Arte è Vita
L’essere di Antonino Sapienza è l’essere di un uomo semplice ,che
quasi inconsapevolmente, dona a tutti noi un raggio di luce sulla
quotidianità.
Attraverso i volti, attraverso i paesaggi, i colori fluttuano
leggeri tra sogno e realtà in una pittura che è il racconto della
verità.
Intorno all’Arte di Antonino Sapienza c’è palpabile un
fantasmagorico mondo che ha dato e continuerà a dare attraverso le
sue opere, lustro al panorama pittorico Siracusano, e non solo.
